Indexing Server filters for TextIndexNG 2 and 3
Project Description
Products.FilterPack
Products.FilterPack Provides indexing of content through the Windows Index
server. In order to accomplish this task, it converts file formats like PDF,
Word, and Excel into plain text.
- Needs the pywin32 Python Extensions for Windows:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pywin32/
- Only runs on Windows. Tested on Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP Pro, and
Windows 2003 Server.
- Note: Some versions of Windows require certain IFilters. For example, on
Windows 2003 Server, only the IFilters included with Office Enterprise work.
However, on Windows XP Pro and Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft's free
FilterPack works as well.
- For searching the results, you'll need TextIndexNG2 or TextIndexNG3.
- Unpack Products.FilterPack into your Zope Products folder, or include
Products.FilterPack in your buildout and re-build out.
- Restart Zope.
- Install the product through Plone's "Add/Remove Products".
